Custom Fitness with Personal Training

Custom Fitness with Personal Training

Personal training (PT for short) is a 1-on-1, customized approach to fitness and the most efficient and effective way to achieve results.

Certified trainers work with clients to best suit their specific goals, whether it’s to lose weight, tone up, gain muscle mass, or to improve flexibility and endurance. The trainers at Equinox, a luxury fitness club where I both work and workout, cover an array of specialties including calisthenics, sports performance, core strength, injury prevention and recovery, pre and post natal care, yoga, martial arts, kettlebells, and so much more. If afraid all trainers are drill sergeants, don’t be. Each trainer has a different personality and approach to suit the needs of all clients.

The advantage of PT over group fitness classes is the customization of each workout, no matter the goal, personality, fitness level, or timeline. Working one-on-one with a trainer ensures you have the correct form, are engaging the proper muscles, and are exerting your maximum effort. Trainers are also diligent about tracking clients’ progress and adjusting each program as needed. The difference in working out with correct form and core activation alone is incredible. Due to safety concerns and instructor to participant ratio, there’s no way for group fitness to hit all these same marks.

The cost of personal training is not included in a gym membership. Although it may seem like a luxury, I highly suggest building it into your budget. PT is beneficial to everyone, especially those new to fitness. The purchase of the membership alone won’t get you in shape and using proper form is key to preventing injury. I have a whole new appreciation for PT and customized workouts since joining the Equinox team.

PT is suggested once a week for maintenance, twice a week for improvement, or three times a week to achieve major results or within a tight deadline for a life-event.

I am not a personal trainer myself but would love to pair you up with one. Let me know how I can help!
