Alphabet Workout

Alphabet Workout

I love traveling but staying active outside of my daily routine can be a challenge. It’s tempting to skip workouts, eat more than usual and overall, let yourself go. The more days skipped, the harder it is to get back into a groove after returning home. Sticking with a routine is important, especially while traveling. Fitness and nutrition seem to go hand in hand. I find that I eat healthier when working out consistently and vice versa. Physical activity releases endorphins which boosts your mood. Personally, I’m in a better mood all day when I start by doing something active.

While on our honeymoon in Costa Rica, David and I stayed active by participating in complimentary yoga offered by the resort and going for hikes. Hiking served the dual purpose of keeping us active while also allowing us to explore the beautiful country. One of our requirements when choosing our honeymoon destination was having plenty of outdoor activities.

When traveling domestically to visit friends and family, I don’t have the luxury of hiking on a volcano or repelling from waterfalls. In these cases, it pays to get creative. Use this alphabet workout as a starting point to fitness, when traveling with no access to a gym, on rainy days when you don’t want to leave the house, or even once a week just because.

Directions:

Use the letters in your name to create a customized workout. If you have a short first name, include your middle and/or last.

Repeat the circuit 3 times with a 60-90 second water break in between rounds.

Make this workout more challenging by adding dumbbells or increasing speed and intensity.

Estimated time for completion is 25 minutes.
